Whether you’re a brand new mom-to-be or expecting again, every pregnancy is different and worth documenting from the very beginning. And here’s why…
Reason #1 – To see just how beautiful you are.
Ever since you’ve read the test results, your complete focus is planning all.things.baby. From choosing the best baby names and decorating the nursery to prepping the hospital bag and everything in between – you’ve got it covered! But wait – what about you?
Take a deep breath and relax.
Have you taken time for yourself lately? How are you feeling? Perhaps overwhelmed, tired, and maybe even a bit moody with swollen ankles (don’t worry – those won’t last)? I’m not saying to stop all baby prep completely, but you deserve some pampering, too.
If your photographer is like me, chances are they already see the beauty in every image they photograph. It’s when we can make our clients feel their absolute best (especially on the days they don’t) that we’ve mastered our craft. That is precisely my goal for every maternity session I photograph.
#2 – Connecting with your Spouse.
With pure love, your significant other see you as no one else does. And there’s nothing more intimate and beautiful than you carrying his baby. Your spouse needs to be involved from the beginning, but often they feel left out as if their role in this pregnancy isn’t as important since you’re the one doing all the hard work. But it is. Reconnect with your spouse with gorgeous images to display throughout your home.
#3 – Memories for your Child.
The days are getting shorter, and your baby is running out of room in there. Soon enough, you’ll be holding your precious miracle in your arms. But wait! Did you capture your pregnancy? I’m not talking about Aunt Betty snapping a photo at the family reunion. Give your child the gift of a portrait to take with them for the rest of their life. The one of their parents falling in love with them before they even had the chance to see their face.
#4 – Once in a lifetime.
It’s honestly just that. There are no re-dos. The best time to photograph your maternity session is between 28-32 weeks. After that, many moms become more uncomfortable and begin to nest. So you see, you have a short window of opportunity to work with, and by God’s grace, hopefully, your plans align with his, and you don’t deliver early.
#5 – One day, you’ll miss this.
You’ve heard the saying before, “She’s got that pregnancy glow,”…and whether or not you believe it – you do! I know it may be hard to think as your body is changing in ways you’ve never imagined but believe me, friend, it’s true! And it’s what I love most about photographing a maternity session – showing a mother to be just how beautiful she is even when she may not feel so. Trust me, regardless of how you may feel right now in this present moment, one day; you’ll look back and miss your baby bump. The only accurate way to remember your pregnancy in the most flattering method is to hire a professional photographer to capture you just as you wish.
So, I’m here to help! I’ve got you covered whether you want all the glitz and glam, a sun dress in the park or a crop top and jeans in the studio. We’ll discuss your ideal session in detail so I can perfectly document this time in your life precisely (or better than) you’d hoped for. And I can’t wait to blow you away with beautiful artwork that you’ll have for the rest of your life!
